A Little Bit of Knitting

Well, now that the Christmas knitting is done, I have the whole month to knit for me, or whoever else I think worthy. And yet, there is very little knitting happening.

Partly it is the “pastor in December” thing. Even though I’m at a small church, there is still a little more happening, plus we are getting ready to repair the church, so contracts, bills, estimates, that kind of thing. At the same time, I took training for a new aquatics program for my teaching, and between getting ready for it, and taking it, there’s been little time over the weekend.

So, there’s just a bit of knitting to show for the last couple of weeks, and most of it occurred in the last 3 days. It’s my Hitofude:

I’m loving this Madelinetosh Tosh Light – brilliant color, soft and shiny – because merino wool and silk.

But I did order an early Christmas present for me – some yak-blend fiber that I’ve been lusting after ever since I went to the Big Sky Fiber Festival a year ago June when I spotted this blend but it almost sold out:

This is from Ricki at Raven Ridge Fiber Arts – and it is yak/merino/silk top. I bought just two ounces of this precious beauty, and I’m planning to spin to a lace/light fingering 2 ply, and then knit something lacy for my neck. Can’t wait for vacation!

So that’s it on the fiber front in my life. What about you? Do you knit/spin more or less during the holidays?
