Knitting for Good

Sisters, can you spare a square?

Some folks may be aware that Allison Jeppson Hyde ( has been very ill, and almost at the point of death in the past month.

Allison is one of the most generous knitters that I know – knitting shawls for every woman in her congregation, and the author of Wrapped in Comfort. That her body is so down has been very tough for those of us who know her.

I know her local knitters have given some knitterly items, which is so in keeping with Allison’s spirit. Now, those of us who live a bit farther away can be a part of something. A number of knitters are getting together to make squares out of fingering weight yarn to become a lap blanket for her. Details and sign-ups are on Ravelry here.
